A Green Gecko

This little critter was sunning itself on a kanuka branch last weekend.  The photos have gone off to the experts to confirm the species. They say it's a girl. It's either a Northland Green, an Auckland Green or a hybrid! Either way she's reasonably uncommon.

A moggie, two adult kiwi and a baby kiwi

A huge thank you to Northland Regional Council for the first delivery of our Community Pest Control Agreement. Included were two Moultrie infared trailcams.

We've tested them out over the last two nights.

First night we saw a moggy walking up our bush path in front of the house, second night same place two kiwi.

It's December, hopefully there's lots of little kiwi like the one in this video clip at Anchorage Heights taking their first steps. Lets do all we can to protect them so they grow to adulthood. Simple step, please lets keep our moggies in at night. Those of us who own dogs lets control them so they never meet a kiwi.

    November beach barbie

The inagrual KPPC beach barbie went off a treat despite hughie sending down the rain before the steaks had been flipped. About 40 folk attended. Many thanks to Gary and Loes for the plan B location in their basement, everyone stayed dry and were well fed and watered.

Community pest control agreement signed with NRC

On the 31st October we signed a Community Pest Control Agreement (CPCA) with the Northland Regional Council. This means over the next five years they'll supply us with a heap of good pest control gear - bless them. First year, 200 snap traps in tunnels, 50 possum traps and 80 stoat traps.
